Brian Borcherdt from Holy Fuck DJs around Toronto under spur-of-the-moment DJ names like Vinyl Ritchie and DJ HJ BJ at various hole-in-the-wall bars on nights with names like “Bring it on Home” and “Standard Def”. These nights are centered around loosening up and having fun, where dancing only happens on top of the bar.
However, teamed up in the clubs with Holy Fuck co-conspirator Graham Walsh, the two become a sort of DJ Set-Em-Up and DJ Knock-Em-Down. Brian begins by cleansing the palate from whoever spun before, laying down dirty old funk, rare grooves and psychedelic soul. Then, when everyone has shaken off the hipster heebie-geebies, Graham takes over, really churning the floor into a frenzy, delivering truly danceable classics (well, classics perhaps in a parallel, way cooler universe).
On his own Brian is most comfortable in drink friendly dives, however in tandem with Graham Walsh he has moved crowds across the US and Canada at festivals like Lollapalooza and at after parties whilst Holy Fuck were touring with MIA.
